This is a draft of a page I’ve built to add to my main menu. It will be used to explain my general policies on doing interviews, accepting advertising, links, and images for the Tumblrs. Before I put it up live, though, I’d like to get some feedback on it. I want to make sure everything is clear and understandable, so if anything here confuses you, let me know. Similarly, if there’s anything you think I need to address that I don’t here, point that out to me if you’d be so kind.
———————————
I get a lot of requests for interviews, link exchanges, and requests for me to feature products on the RPD site. In order to keep me from having to repeat the same things over and over, I though I’d put up a page that explains my policies about working with the media, adding links to my site, etc.
Links to Other Sites
I provide courtesy links from my blog to other sites operated by individual sex workers (blogs only), sex workers’ rights activists and groups, and associations of sex workers only. If your site fits within those descriptions, drop me a note and I’ll put a link to you on my blog. No reciprocal links are necessary, but they are of course appreciated. I will not put links up to escort/hobbyist forums, escort agencies, individual professional sites, or any site that promotes porn, or any site that is of a commercial nature (i.e., you sell stuff or use your site primarily to generate revenue through click-through ads or whatnot). Basically, my intent is to promote the work of sex workers, and not have the RPD blog become a link farm.

If you’re unsure whether or not you fit into one of those categories, just contact me and I’ll take a look and let you know what I think.
For individual sex workers (escorts), I’ll be happy to exchange links and banners with your professional site and mine. Contact me for more details.
If you wish to promote RPD on your site, feel free to use this banner to do so (please save to your own server):

If you wish to promote the My First Professional Sex web site, you may use this banner (please save to your own server):

Media Inquiries
Interviews with the media must be done via e-mail or Instant Messaging. This is primarily so that I can maintain a written record of the questions and my answers, and to ensure that anything I say is not taken out of context without me being able to respond to it and provide the entire answer within the context in which it was given. I’ve seen FAR too many sex workers’ quotes used out of context, and keeping a record of the conversation will give me some protection when it comes to how I am presented.
I do not accept any of the following requests:
- Television (especially) or radio interviews (with a few exceptions), live or recorded. Even when silhouetted, I’ve seen sex workers exposed publicly, and don’t wish to deal with that.
- Any interview where I’ll be required to provide proof of my real identity. I don’t care how much you assure me my privacy will be respected, the nature of my work requires some measure of anonymity, and I’m not about to risk that for your story.
- Interviews by organizations known to be hostile to sex workers without the written, explicit assurance that my words will be printed exactly as I have written them in the totality in which I have provided them.
- If you are Tyra Banks, or represent Tyra Banks, fuck off and die. I don’t do interviews with sexually-ignorant, judgmental Oprah-wannabes.
- If you are faux psychologist Dr. Phil, or represent Dr. Phil, you may likewise fuck off and die. I don’t do interviews with ignorant sexist fucks, either.
Requests for Interviews by Non-Media
Requests for interviews by researchers or anyone else are done on a case-by-case basis, time permitting. I am happy to do interviews that deal with sex workers, sex workers’ rights, womens’ reproductive health, or sex education, or those that involve a look inside my life (so long as you don’t mind being bored to death by it).
Advertising on Real Princess Diaries
I do not allow any advertising here on RPD. I just don’t need the money and prefer to keep the site ad free .
Product Reviews
I get quite a few requests to do product reviews, and unfortunately I must decline. While I appreciate the opportunity and your faith in my ability to test your product, I have a strict policy here about not using any advertising or promoting products. There are plenty of men and women on the Net who do product reviews. Now, if you just want to send me a toy to play with and not require me to do a review of it, we can talk.
Submitting Material for the Tumblrs
I maintain several Tumblr photo blogs that I use to share erotica and other material. Many people like to send me photos to use on these and I really appreciate that. So that you don’t waste your time and mine, let me explain what kind of stuff I am looking for on each of them.
Erotic Images Tumblr: The intent of this Tumblr is to showcase imagery that is very artistic and/or erotic.
- I don’t use regular/mainstream porn images, generally speaking, though I will make occasional exceptions for images that have some exceptional quality(ies) to them, like those that are highly erotic in their own right, or those that show unique sexual situations (Ken Marcus’ work is an excellent example of “unique” sexual situations).
- Photos of men, women, couples, groups, in any gender combination are fine.
- No cell phone photos.
- The photos have to be high quality, and of something other than just two people fucking or a naked body. There has to be something about their facial expressions or the clothing they’re wearing, for example, that make it scream “hot” or “sensual” rather than just showing two people having sex.
- Black and white or color images are acceptable for this.
- Personal photos for this Tumblr are fine, so long as they meet the requirements above.
Buttholes Tumblr: This was created just to feature those gorgeous little buttholes that all of us have. They don’t get the respect that other parts of the body do, so I thought I’d start a Tumblr dedicated to them.
- The general preference is for simple shots of buttholes. They can be of a single person or multiple people.
- No porny shots with a woman bent over showing ass while holding her cunt open. I prefer just the regular, bent over, cheeks naturally spread from the positioning of the legs, etc. I also have a preference for amateur photos (of good quality).
- Male buttholes are fine so long as they’re not overly hairy. That is, admittedly, subjective, but I trust your judgment.
- Personal photos of your butthole are just fine for this, so long as it meets the requirements above.
- No gaping buttholes, and I prefer not to have anything in the butthole (cocks, dildos, etc. Tongues are okay, though.)
Facials Tumblr: I created this one largely to spite all of the uber feminists who insist that facials are degrading to women. Every woman I know who allows their SO to give them a facial loves them, and doesn’t give the first shit about the political posturing behind how they might have come about in porn.
- No porn facials. Or, at least, none that are just random porn facials. If I use a porn facial it is because there is something in the image that makes it more than just a porn facial. Easy to understand, no?
- I won’t use shots that have the girl being held down or that make it appear in any way that she’s not enjoying the facial itself. The Tumblr is about women (and the occasional guy, sure) who enjoy being on the receiving end of a facial.
- Bukkake shots are not used unless there’s something unique about the image that makes it exceptional.
- I prefer color shots of these.
- If you wish to submit a personal photo, you can take some measures to obscure your identity, so long as you don’t detract from the primary focus of the image, which is that of cum splattered all over a human face.
Back Tattoos: The lower back tattoo has gotten a bad rap ever since it became mainstream. I happen to have one myself, so I’ve been victimized by those who call them tramp stamps, skank badges, and all of the other euphemisms. But the tattoos are designed to draw the eyes to one of the sexiest parts on a woman’s body in my mind – the small of her back.
- Though originally intended for tats appearing on the lower back, any tattoo that appears on the back is fine so long as it is artistically done.
- The tattoo needs to be discernible in the photo. I’m guilty of violating this guideline myself in the past, but I won’t any longer.
- Cell phone photos are acceptable if they’re good quality.
- Lower back tats on guys are hot, too, so those are acceptable if the image quality is good.
- Shots from porn are fine for this blog, as are personal photos.
- Black and white or color images work on this blog.
Erotic Words: I built this Tumblr to feature images and other material that use words or sounds to convey eroticism. This includes things like quotes, poetry, song lyrics, short stories, videos with voice in them, audio tracks, photos of posters or other material using words, etc.
- Quotes can be from any source, including unknown people, so long as the quote itself has some nexus with eroticism.
- Material must always have a source attributed to it if it can be identified, especially quotes, poetry, or other written words.
As always, if you have any questions about any of this, feel free to contact me. If you have photos you want to send (or links to photos) for the various Tumblrs, drop me a line at alexa(dot)therealprincess(at)gmail(dot)com.

If I remember correctly, you have tweeted similar problems with Dr. Phil as with Tyra Banks. It might be worthwhile to add the “good doctor” to your do not accept section.
Indeed. How could I have forgotten him. He’s been added – thanks for pointing that out.
Nope all looks good & clear to me. And I’ll keep the clearer TUMBLR rules in mind for my submissions
Awesome.
None of these apply to me, but this was an enjoyable read all the same. Congrats on reaching 1 million hits, by the way!
Thanks.
Well done once again…will make sure I proceed with caution when submitting/sending you anything my deviant mind may think coincides with your ever so sexy and sexual mindset. Alexa you do an amazing job with this site … I’m hooked and that says a lot. wink wink. Keep up the GREAT work. YES, I do still find you to be an amazing woman. ; )
Alexa you do an amazing job with this site
Thank you.
I’d split this into two separate parts. The first section deals with you and what you will & won’t do, the second section is a detailed set of rules for tumblr submissions. I’d put the link to the tumblr rules at the top of the tumblrs. Other than that its very clear (I wouldn’t use the “fuck off and die” phrase, but I’m a Brit so what the fuck do I know). BTW, I’m so glad you’ll never accept advertising or do product reviews – it would certainly compromise the honesty of your blog in my eyes if you did.
Just a thought, has the timing of this – specifically your comments on how you wish to preserve your anonymity – got anything to do with the outing of Belle De Jour in the UK? I must admit, the fact that even she couldn’t keep her identity a secret was a bit of a surprise to me

I’ve given that some thought, and it may end up that I do that.

Actually, no. The timing is purely coincidental. In fact, most of this was written a week before she outed herself.
You wrote:

I would wordsmith this just a bit and say:
I provide courtesy links from my blog ONLY to OTHER BLOGS operated by individual sex workers, sex workers’ rights activists and groups, and associations of sex workers.
Otherwise a fine document.

That would imply that I only link to blogs oeprated by SW rights groups, and that’s not the case. I link to any site operated by a rights group.
Otherwise a fine document.
I stumbled over the same sentence/section that Lee pointed out. It is still a little unclear with Lee’s edit. I won’t attempt an alternate suggestion because you know your convictions–I’m usually too obtuse, and this one requires a clear, succinct explanation. My guess is you are overwhelmed by requests and want to reduce the quantity.
You can always include an exclusionary statement, eg., “It’s my blog and I can do what I want.”
Can I plagiarize this for my own policies? (Just kidding)

Not really overwhelmed, but without a clear, articulated policy, it makes it seem arbitrary when I explain to someone I won’t be linking to their blog because X.

You can if you wish. Seriously. I don’t care.
