As you know, I am at my parents’ house this week, getting ready for my surgery. One of the things I’ve enjoyed today is being able to go for a swim in their pool. When Nikki and I lived in an apartment in Fort Lauderdale, our complex had not just one, but two pools. One of them was for adults only – we could be topless and practically bottomless there (many women opted for the tiniest of thong bottoms). When we bought our house, though, we lost the pool. So it’s been a good three years since I’ve had a pool to jump into.
Anyway, in between swims today, I needed something to read while I was enjoying the sunshine. My father happens to subscribe to Maxim magazine and had the July 2009 edition lying around – the one with Olivia Wilde on the cover. They have a fairly decent interview with her, including her reaction to Megan Fox’s admission that she’s lusted after Olivia for some time.
Yeah, she came up to me at a party. Leonard DiCaprio was in the vicinity, but she came up to me, damn it! She said, “I’ve had a girl crush on you for years, and I hope that doesn’t offend you.” And I said, “Why would it offend me? I think it’s wonderful.” Then I said something really nerdy like, “I should send you a thank-you card!” She said, “Yeah,” and I just kind of withered. Thank you cards are not sexy.
Now Megan Fox has publicly stated that she is bisexual, as am I, of course. There is one compelling difference between me and Megan Fox that is demonstrated here, however. If that had been me, and Olivia told me that my crush on her was wonderful, I’d have kissed her right then and there, in front of everyone.
Many people these days recognize Olivia from her role as the bisexual character Thirteen on House, M.D. Others of us recognize her from her role as Alex on The O. C., however. Her developing relationship with Marissa (Mischa Barton) kept me enthralled in that show for weeks, and once their relationship ended, I didn’t even bother to watch the show any longer.
Their first kiss was one of the most anticipated on TV that season. Here’s a quick compilation of scenes that kind of outline how their relationship developed, including *the* kiss (watch these in order).
Maxim also has an interview with Lady GaGa. She’s captured my attention over the past few weeks. Some people like to diss her and her music, but I find her to be an interesting individual. She’s a former stripper, so I share a kindred spirit with her from that perspective. Based on the dance moves she uses in her videos, I’d be inclined to speculate that she was a lot of fun to watch on stage.
She’s not the least bit shy about her sexuality, either. And, she, too, is admittedly bisexual, stating in the interview when asked if she preferred sex with men or with women:
LG. It depends on the guy or the girl. But I’m not discussing my sex life with you. I will say I’d be a happy girl if I could make the whole world gay.
M. You’re not going to turn a lot of guys gay with this photo shoot.
LG. But that’s the thing. I’m not trying to make your dick hard like the other girls are. I’m trying to teach your dick to get hard when it looks at other things.
On her music:
When you listen to a song like Love Game, is it communicating my soul to you? No. My music isn’t me jerking my dick off all over a piano trying to feel something. I make soulless electronic pop. But when you’re on Ecstasy in a nightclub grinding up against someone and my music comes on, you’ll feel soul.
I love dancing to her music, and I love watching her dance to it. She’s a unique individual, has an incredible voice (find a video of her singing unplugged) and has an understanding of not only her own innate sexuality, but how she can integrate sexuality with her music and her career. I’ll enjoy seeing how things progress with GaGa over the next few years.
I also have a fondness for orchestral music, and I came across this on the Net this morning. Someone has arranged her song, Poker Face, for orchestra. So I thought I’d share it with you guys
Anyway, hope you all had an awesome weekend.

You know a few months ago I started getting people coming up to me and saying ‘hey you look like lady Gaga!’ my heart would sink…but then I downloaded a track after it squeezed its way into my ear, implanting itself and giving me ‘feel good vibes’. I thought I’d better look this girl up seen as she looks so much like me and also my sister had started wittering on about her being something a bit different. So now I can say I am hooked and I totally get it she’s awesome and I’m quite happy to have people say: ‘hey has anyone ever told you you look like lady gaga?’
I like Fox, Wilde, and Gaga. Probably in that order, even. I heard in some interview that Megan Fox does not consider herself a good actress because she “hasn’t done anything yet” or something like that. I think that was cool of her to confess. I hope to see her play some different roles. Perhaps one that involves a smokey sex scene :-P
Maybe you would like Disturbed’s Indestructible set to piano…

It’s comforting to know that even beautiful women sometimes get nervous approaching beautiful women. ;)
I loved that interview with GaGa! I, too, had never taken the time to really appreciate, much less notice, the singer. I was like, who is she? (You’d think hearing “Pokerface” on the booty station every day would have given me a clue…)
Then the July issue of Maxim made its way into my life in a similarly random fashion, and when I read that quote about “soulless electro pop” it just killed me! LOVE HER! “I’m not jerking off all over a piano trying to make you feel something.” Fuck yes, GaGa. I love you.
I am pretty sure that Olivia isn’t actually bi, she just plays one on tv.
I LOVE YOUR blog. I love how you discuss and explore sex without shame. I was in the 24 hour mini mart the other night, saw that issue of Maxim with Olivia Wilde on it and freaked out… I love megan fox, olivia wilde and Lady GaGa- also in that order. It’s very admirable that megan has said she hasn’t done anything great yet, and for lady gaga to say she’s not trying to make you feel up her soul.
Any San Diego representation?
I can’t get on board with the Megan Fox love strictly for her comments on bisexual women, even though she *is* a bisexual woman:

And this:

Kinda like the orchestral version of “poker face”.
Now if Scala and Kolaczny Brothers could do one, that would be awesome
