Alexa’s Update # 18

Well, a lot has happened since the last update.  Let’s get busy, shall we?

I just got back home from spring break; I’d been in Florida with my girlfriend Nikki since the 18th.  I had hoped to spend most of the time on the beach soaking in the sun, but fuck if it didn’t stay cloudy and/or rainy the majority of the time.  We flew to the Bahamas for a day trip and it was cloudy pretty much the whole day and even rained on us a bit there.   Regardless, I got to spend some quality time with Nik, so it wasn’t all bad. 

Code of Ethics

If you’ve been paying attention over the past few weeks, I’ve been working on a Code of Ethics for sex workers, or, rather, “alternative providers.”   That term includes not only escorts, but outdoor providers, dancers, massage artists, professional doms/dommes and subs, web cam and phone sex operators, and others who provide some form of sexual or fantasy services to clients.

There’s been a good bit of discussion about the CoE here, on Twitter, and on a variety of other discussion boards in the U.S. and overseas.  Most of it has been very positive, though there have been the occasional naysayers from sex workers and those who use their services.  I’m always amazed that people will shoot down a new idea before giving it a chance.  It may well fail, but at least give it a shot.  It will definitely fail if no one tries it.

One thing I am working on is the development of a new web site and forums for alternative providers.  This web site would serve as the hub for management of the Code of Ethics, and give providers and clients alike a mechanism to discuss the CoE and other issues related to the line of work we’re all involved with.  It would also provide a central point of coordination for the vast collection of international sex workers’ rights organizations to work together on common issues.

I’ve asked for public support for the initiative from a variety of organizations including Sex Workers Outreach Project, Desiree Alliance, and the International Union of Sex Workers.  If they support it, I’ll begin work on it and see what we can do to get it up and running and make the CoE something more than just an assemblage of words.  Through networking on Twitter, I’ve gotten a collection of incredibly wonderful people who work in the industry who’ve offered to help get such a project off the ground if the support is there.  We’ll see what happens.  This project will include clients or potential clients as well, by the way.

Client News

While I was out of town, one of my favorite clients was in town for a brief stopover.  Since I wasn’t available, I referred him to Ava Deluca, another escort here in SF.  He had a great time with her and has offered to share some thoughts about his experiences with us on both of our blogs in the not too distant future.  As soon as he gets that to me, both she and I will post it on our respective blogs.  I don’t think that kind of thing has been done before, so it should be interesting and provide you with a unique perspective from a client’s point of view.

Possible Summer Tour

I’m giving some serious thought to touring this summer – spending some time on the road in other cities entertaining clients.  I’d see clients for two or three days and have a down day or two to do some sightseeing or to hook up with some of my online friends, followed by a day of travel.  My thoughts at present are to do a trial tour of Los Angeles and Las Vegas at the beginning of July for about a week.  If that goes well, I’m looking at doing a tour of:

• Washington, DC
• New York City
• Boston
• Chicago
• Denver
• Seattle
• Honolulu

That tour would likely kick off around the middle of July and I’d have to be back by the time the fall semester started up toward the end of August.

If you’re in any of those cities and think you might like to book an appointment with me, e-mail me and let me know.  Keep in mind my appointment minimums are two hours.  In DC, NYC, and probably Boston, my rates are going to be significantly higher as well, probably in the $1K to $2K per hour range (for all other cities, my regular rate of $1K for two hours applies).  My standard screening requirements apply as well.  I’ll give you more information if/when you contact me.  Obviously, as summer draws near, you’ll hear more about this one way or the other.

School Work

I don’t know how I managed to get three instructors in one semester that are so incredibly boring, but I did.  Trust me, it takes some work to make a biological and psychology of sex class boring, but damned if the instructor hasn’t done just that.  Last semester was great, but this one…just, no. I can’t wait for it to be over.

There are no summer classes in this degree, so I’ll have all summer off.  As I mentioned an update or two ago, Nikki and I are going to Yellowstone the week of June 13 – 21, and when I get back, I’ll likely be going on the tour I mentioned above.

After that, I’ll have two semesters to go with my Masters Degree.  Then I’ll be picking up all my shit here and moving back to Florida to begin Chapter 6 of my life.  As some of you noticed in my last post here, I plan to retire from sex work, at least of this particular strain of it, and focus on some other avenues that I’ve been wanting to pursue.  At that point, I’ll be shutting down this blog.  I’ll leave it up for future readers, of course, but I won’t be updating it any longer.  I haven’t decided if I’ll make a grand announcement as to what I’ll be doing and where you’ll be able to find me at that point.  I may wish to fade into deeper anonymity. 

Kelsey

Several of you have asked about Kelsey and where the two of us stand.  I think I mentioned a few weeks ago that her asshole boyfriend broke up with her and left her at school.  I had to go pick her up.  Since then, I’ve kind of held back because I don’t want her to see me as a rebound.  I have to ensure she understands that anything that happens with me is purely a physical thing and that there’s no chance of it developing into anything with long-term potential.  We still see each other occasionally and have played all kinds of kissy-face, but that’s about it so far.

You can rest assured that if/when something else happens I’ll let you know.
