Q & A with Alexa – Session 3

by Alexa on January 14, 2009 · 7 comments

This is the third in the series of my Q&A sessions.  You can find Session 1 HERE, and Session 2 HERE.  As always, if you have a question you’d like answered, feel free to send it to me using the Talk to Me Form, or via e-mail at alexa(dot)therealprincess@gmail(dot)com.  Many questions I get, especially from new readers, have been answered in previous posts, so please use the search (Explore Me) function found on the right side of the page.

So, let’s get on with the questions:

Q.  Are you a big fan of garters and thigh highs? And do clients ask you to wear them?

I am not personally a huge fan of them – I hate hose.  However, I do have two regular clients who really like them, so I wear them when I go out to see them.  That’ll be the only time you see me wearing hose, except perhaps when I am doing some modeling work (and even then it’ll take some coaxing to get me into them).

Q.  What other jobs have you had prior to escorting?

My most immediate job was a dancer (stripper).  I did that for about three doand a half years.  I’ve also worked selling cell phones, as a checker and bagger in a grocery store, and of course, babysitting.  I’ve done some modeling as well.

Q.  How old was your oldest client?

The oldest so far is 52.    My youngest was in his mid-20s, btw.

Q.  Did the client who didn’t get off with you ever contact you for another appointment?

No.  :lurk:

Q.  Why don’t you post much about what you’re studying in school?

There’s a couple of reasons for this.  The primary one is that I am not out as a sex worker in my classes, and I have no way of knowing who will come across my blog.  I am pretty heavily engaged on MySpace and Facebook where it’d be fairly easy for someone from school to find me, and if I discussed the specifics of what goes on in my classes, it’d be even easier to figure out who I was.  I prefer not to have to deal with that at this point.

The other reason has to do with the nature of the blog itself.  My intent here is not to engage in long-winded political discussions or intricate conversations about the sociocultural aspects of human sexuality.  While I enjoy that kind of stuff, that’s not what this blog is about.

Q.  What would you do if someone in your class or one of your professors found out what you do for a living?

Live with it.  There’s not much else I could do.  I’ll just have to deal with any ramifications that come about.  I don’t hide it because I am ashamed of it, but rather to prevent myself from having to deal with the bullshit I’d likely have to put up with from classmates or maybe even the school.  I prefer not to have to deal with it, obviously, but will if it comes to that.

Q.  What is your biggest pet peeve about how people view the work you do?

Wow, I’m not sure what the biggest one would be – there are so many.  I guess the one that grates on me the most is when people refer to prostitutes as “selling” their bodies.  I guess those people are just too ignorant to understand the meaning of the word “sell.”  When you sell something, you transfer ownership of it, and that is obviously not what happens.  I leave and, at least as far as I know, I still own my body when I get home.  I do sell my time or, if you prefer to look at it another way, I rent myself (not just my body, but my self).  And no, it’s not just my body.  They get my intellect, my personality, and all of the other aspects of me.  Very few people are going to pay my rates just to have a hole to fuck.

Another one is that all prostitutes (or even sex workers in general) were abused as children.  I wasn’t abused (far from it), and I know plenty of women who work in a sex-related field who weren’t.

Q.  What do you plan to do with your degree?

I have plans to start my own company when I return to Florida.  The company would focus on sex education (adolescents and adults) and allied services.  I’ll write more about this in the not too distant future.  I am also considering whether or not I want to pursue my Ph.D.    Can you say, Dr. Alexa:D

Q.  Where do you get the photos you post on your Tumblrs?

The overwhelming majority of them are in my own personal collection – I’ve always collected photos I found intriguing.  Others are sent to me by readers occasionally, and still others come from my travels around the Internet.  The ones for the Yellowstone Tumblr come from various forums I read where people who’ve been to the park post the photos they take on their trips.

Q.  When are you going to write about…[insert subject here]?

I know it seems like I don’t do much, but I do have things going on.  I have about a dozen pieces in one form or another staged here for the future.  But I have to be in the right mindset to write about certain things.  For example, the post about me watching Nikki and Chase took a few days to write because I couldn’t put myself back into that room to recall what took place in what order. 1

I also have other projects I am responsible for or are actively working on.  In between all of this, I am working on scheduling appointments or answering questions from potential clients, talking with my friends, my family or other folks, or surfing the net looking for those hot photos you all love so much. ;-)

Q.  Obviously you write a lot, enjoy it, and you have many people who love to read your stuff. But, do you ever write stuff that you never intend to publish? Just for you.. in a therapeutic way, I guess? For the pure sake of writing it down/making sense of something/helping yourself through something/peace of mind, etc? Or do you write purely to entertain/publish?

The overwhelming majority of what I write is intended for consumption by my readers.  I do occasionally write about things that I experience that either serve to memorialize something that happened or, as you stated, for purely therapeutic reasons.  The story about my first lesbian experience is a good example of that.  I’d written it long before I shared it with anyone else, purely because I wanted to make sure I captured what had happened that night.  Eventually, I became comfortable enough revealing that side of myself to share it with people.

  1. In fact, I had to masturbate twice while writing it because I was able to put myself back there spiritually. []

I enjoy reading your blog and think that you are a strong woman. You are honest, intelligent and focused. Secretly I desired to work in the sex industry (in my younger years). I was hired as an escort for an agency but I never went through with it. I guess that’s why I am so intrigued by your blog. :)

Nicole, you’re so not the first person who’s said that (having considered working as an escort or went so far as to get hired). I’m glad you’re enjoying the blog and appreciate your kind words. :kissy:

People who consider it “selling” are ignorant of the situation IMO. I would think you are in the “service” industry is more accurate, just like a doctor, lawyer, or indian chief.

I agree, it is semantic ignorance.

A masseuse doesn’t sell her hands, she sells her therapy. Similarly a plummer doesn’t sell her tools when she services your pipes ;-)

Leo, that’s the way I see it. I work in the service industry. ;-)

Scotty, lol @ the plumber.

Dr. Alexa, hmm. I’m trying to picture it professionally but all I can think of is a hot doctor and kinky porn.

No but really, that would be awesome. I’m at the point where I’m trying to decide if I want to pursue general psychology of some sort or something more based around sexuality.
