Well, I am officially one fourth of the way to completing my Master’s degree. I had my last exam this morning, and I am glad they’re over. I enjoy writing, but on my terms, not someone else’s.
My Spring semester begins January 26, and I’ll be taking 10 hours! One of the courses is a four-hour, once a week monster. I have a hard time making it through my three-hour classes; I sure don’t look forward to having to sit through a four-hour one.
Nikki will be arriving in town Sunday evening. She’ll be with me for two weeks. I will spend all day tomorrow cleaning the apartment and getting things ready for her. We plan to spend Monday and Tuesday exploring San Francisco – I haven’t gotten around to that since I’ve been here, largely because it’s no fun doing that kind of stuff alone (to me, anyway). I’ll be taking her out clubbing as well, and I have some plans for her and Chase. If those come to fruition, you’ll likely get a really hot story. We may also go back out to Yosemite if the weather permits.
Those of you who’ve read the Quantum of Ecstasy entries know about my kissing Kelsey. Yesterday morning after I’d gone back to sleep, I was woken abruptly by someone knocking on my door. It was Kelsey. When I opened the door, she grabbed my face and kissed me passionately, turned around and left, much as I had done with her.
I’m still conflicted about how exactly to handle her – she’s still with her boyfriend, and I just don’t feel comfortable playing with her unless and until she’s disabused herself of him. At the same time, though, I don’t want to discourage her and make her think that I’m not interested. I believe I made that perfectly clear at dinner the other night, but you never know.
My entry on Buttholes has easily been the most popular post on the site since it went up. In fact, it now ranks behind only my post on throat fucking in popularity. I’ve gotten some interesting comments on my new Tumblr and its uniqueness. One blog entry listed it with a tease of “Now Here’s a Blog with a Theme.”
I’ve had a couple of people question my sanity with respect to my fascination with buttholes, but as I said in the post about it, it was just a fun thing to do. If someone gets squicked out by it, that’s their problem not mine. I am considering offering to promote any porn actress/escort/sex workers’ web sites if they submit a photo of their asshole for the blog. A couple volunteered to take photos right off the bat, and so that seems like it’d be an interesting way to add a few images, no?
Many of you have read Alexa: Introduction. The idea for this came from comments people have made to me about writing a book. I’ve explained that I just don’t have the patience to do that, but I was curious as to how I’d start such a project. That post was the result. It got pretty long, so I broke it up into two pieces, the first of which you’ve already seen. Chapter 2 will be available shortly. I’ll probably continue the series over the next few months – we’ll see how it turns out. One obstacle I’m having to deal with is that it’s hard to recall specific things that happened that long ago.
No really good or unique client stories this time. I’ve taken this past week off to concentrate on my exams. I do have an appointment with a client tomorrow night, and then I’ll be taking off the two week’s that Nikki is here. My next appointment is January 4th, and is a threesome with a semi-regular and another female provider. I’m looking forward to that.
Finally, we had some really crazy weather here in San Francisco over the past week. It has been cooler than normal, and there was actually a short hailstorm here. The hail was mostly pea sized, though some of the little pellets were about the size of dimes. I sure do miss being able to go to the beach in December like I could when I lived in Florida.
That’s it for this week. I hope each of you has an awesome, incredible week filled with whatever kind of joy you wish.

Congratulations on the 1/4th of a Master’s! I’m pretty jealous.
If you really haven’t explored the city that much, you’re missing out on all kinds of culinary delights. If you both like Italian, take her to Trattoria Continadina – http://www.trattoriacontadina.com/ if you want to see the menu. I go there at least once, usually twice, every time I’m in town. It’s a tiny hole-in-wall place that you could easily walk right by and not notice. Very friendly staff and amazing food. Because it’s small, you’ll need a reservation even on a weeknight.
If you’re into Indian, last month I discovered a new place called Amber – http://www.amber-india.com/SanFrancisco/ – right off Market Street near the Powell Street Station. Didn’t read about it anywhere, just happened to glance over and see it in passing. Best Indian food I’ve ever had. Nothing in Nashville compares to either of these.
Amber India is one of the few Indian restaurants in the Bay Area written up in the Michelin guide. The original one is in Mountain View a few miles south of the city in Silicon Valley. The one in town is pretty good but they are still getting their legs under them. If it’s all about hole in the walls I’d have to say Cafe Macaroni right off Columbus in North Beach. The waiters are complete characters and bicker in Italian the whole time. Of course, Dim Sum at Yank Sing is a great experience on the weekends for brunch. This city is one of the few amazing cities left in the US period. It has its own charms, dangers, character. Most other places are crappy strip malls with dead down towns. If you’re looking for an expensive culinary experience that will set you back a few hundred dollars than I’d recommend Aqua in the financial district. Well worth the price. I actually saw a small placard off of California near Embarcadero which simply said “Here Stood Fort Gunny Bags, Home of the First Vigilance Committee.” I had no idea what that was. It was just a small metal placard that I had missed a 100 times before walking past there. I looked the key words up on the Internet and found out a fascinating string of stories. It was just amazing stuff. Few other cities have the charms of SF…of course they may include Boston, NYC, Chicago, DC, Seattle, …but then the list trails off pretty quick and you end up with cool, but smaller tier two cities like Charleston, New Orleans, Portland etc before you get to cute small towns. But among hte big cities, the Bay Area is in rare company in the US. We’ve lost a lot of the magic of our cities. Too bad it’s cold and rainy now.
Just so you guys know, I’m not a big fan of an Asian cuisine at all. I can eat it if I have to, but I won’t get it voluntarily.
And today is a sucky day. I hate cold, rainy days.
And thanks, Lo.
Take Nikki down to the warf and go to the maritime museums. There are several ships you can tour, I reccommend the Balcutha, a clipper ship as one of the best I have seen. I also reccommend the Palace of the Legion of Honor as a great place to visit.
You definitely need to so to the Museum of Modern Art in Soma and Golden Gate Park to the tea house. Nikki will fall in love with the tea house.
Have fun while she is here.
Fuck Nikki hard up her arse on the centre of Golden Gate bridge at rush hour.
And take sandwitches.
I’d have to say Asian cuisine in SF has got to be pretty different from what you get most other parts of the country. It’s actually real…and good. Of course, even the fast food here is better. In And Out anyone!!! Of course, Taylor’s in the Ferry Building kicks ass too.
If Asian is out, then check out anything in North Beach. All Italian all the time. I still recommend Cafe Macaroni. Complete dive with excellent food.
or maybe Globe down in the financial district/SOMA or maybe if you’re looking for just plain and simple comfort food try Q. Oh hell, this city is packed with good restaurants. i love Cafe Gratitude whether in Oakland or the City. It’s hippy dippy vegan but the food is great…even for a meat lover like me.
OMG, what not to do in SF.
Graze through North Beach. Find a place that is interesting and authentic. Rely less on recommendations than on your own judgment. If you find it yourself, it is always more memorable.
Too bad about your lack of interest in asian food. I was going to suggest finding an authentic Dim Sum place in Chinatown. Yank Sing is great, but a little upscale for my taste (if you are going dim sum).
Do you guys like to walk? (Hopefully you will have a nice sunny day during the week, even if cool.) I recommend the Filbert and Greenwich steps, basically the several blocks on Telegraph Hill (mostly on the east side) of those streets that are only steps — too steep for any road, but there are houses, gardens, etc. clinging to the hillside. You won’t believe it is in the city.
Wander down Union Street. Get a pass and ride the cable cars, the street cars, and the buses. Seriously, you have to ride with the people a bit. (Can’t always take the client’s cab around town, you know. :) ) I recommend the 30 Stockton for an unbelieveable ride with very diverse crowd.
Beach Blanket Babylon?!
Alan
Beach Blanket Babylon would be a must!
For our sake, let’s hope those plans with chase don’t fall through.
