Wow. I must agree with scottish pineapple… you can’t be certain about anything as far as safety just because you feel “comfortable” with said person. There are so many ways that diseases can’t be visible (HIV, herpes, syphyllis, etc) and I could never imagine taking a chance with a client because of a fantasy. “Choice” and “profession” are not mutually exclusive, and our responsibility is to each other and each others’ future partners. Again, I think I am in the best position to determine what is or is not safe and appropriate within my given set of circumstances.
