College Graduate
May 8, 2008
Tomorrow evening at 5:00PM, the University of Miami holds its Commencement for those graduating in the Arts and Sciences departments. Yours truly will be receiving her diploma, graduating magna cum laude with a 3.98 GPA (one B in my entire college course load). I am graduating after five years in school – I had to spend an extra year in due to a change of majors. I originally went in as a Business Administration major, and changed to Psychology when I decided I wanted to pursue a career in human sexuality. My parents and Nikki’s parents are in town to help us celebrate.
Anyway, there’s no real point to this other than to taut the fact that I will be joining the 28% (+/-) of the U. S. population that has a college degree, and celebrating my own achievement. I don’t do that last part often, but I am making an exception in this case. Nikki graduated last spring with her degree in Business Administration, so now we are both well-edumahcated!
This fall, I will begin working on my Master’s Degree in Human Sexuality Studies at San Francisco State University. I am very much looking forward to that. In fact, this semester has dragged on because I have been looking forward to working on that graduate degree.

Got something to say?

Congrats, you Hurricane girl! Party it up and enjoy your last few days/weeks in Miami. BTW, is Nikki going to at least come out to SF to help you get settled in your new digs, and see your new city, or not? Hope so.
Regardless, that final goodbye with her will be harder than the Last Dance, I think. Good luck…
P.S. Let me know how the class session on ’sexually frustrated married men that are trying to stay faithful - and barely hanging on’ goes. I’ll need your notes…
Congratulations. I too have a couple of degrees but remember, educated or not, we are all the same people inside.
Congratulations sweetheart!!!
I’m so proud of you!
MWAH!

Thanks, folks. <3
blackdog, yes, Nikki is riding out with me when I leave and will stay for a week to help me get settled, and then fly back to Fort Lauderdale.
And, yes, CP, you are correct. I am just celebrating what I consider a major milestone in my life, that’s all.
Wow, today is the big day. Enjoy the ceremony, and have a great time celebrating. We all look forward to reading about it.

Congrats! I know what a triumph that is. I am proud of you. Next time I am in SF, dinner on me!
Thanks, Callie. I look forward to that!
